How Good is Our Memory?

Let’s find out.

  1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

  2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

  3. Name the last five Miss Americas.

  4. Name five people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

  5. Name the last five Academy Award winners for Best Actress or Actor.

  6. Name the last five Super Bowl MVPs.

How Did We Do?

The point is, none of us remember the stars of yesterday.

And these individuals are no slouches.

They are highly accomplished human beings.

Most are the best in their field.

But applause dies.

Achievements fade.

Here’s Another Brain-buster

  1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

  2. Name three friends who helped you through a difficult time.

  3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

  4. Think of a few people who made you feel special and appreciated.

  5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Was that any easier?

Lesson Learned

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones

  • With the most credentials

  • With the most money

  • With the most awards.

They are the ones that care.

This week’s content is courtesy of Charles Schulz, creator of the PEANUTS cartoon.

PEANUTS debuted in October of 1950 in seven newspapers and grew to become the best-loved comic strip in history and a global phenomenon.

“These early published cartoons focused on concise drawings of precocious children with large heads who interacted with words and actions well beyond their years.”

Today, PEANUTS is featured in global online syndication and thousands of newspapers worldwide, in classic specials and new streaming series on AppleTV+, in mobile apps, stage productions, feature films, and hundreds of books.

In addition to Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and the gang, Mr. Schulz is also famous for his life philosophy:

“The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, money, or awards. They are the ones that care.”

Schulz passed in February 2000, but happiness continues to be PEANUTS for fans everywhere.
